With only 16 days of class remaining, the school year is drawing to a close and the students are counting down. While many people think teachers spend all summer lying on a beach somewhere, this is the time when we do most of our reflecting on the past and gearing up for the future. Many of us are already brainstorming ways we can improve our teaching practice for next year's group. For me, this is the time of year I start making my summer "to do list." It certainly includes all the jobs around the house I haven't been able to get to during the school year. However, much of it is filled with school thoughts. As a teacher, I am always questioning the way I do things, what strategies have the best impact on student achievement, and how I can make things better.
